svapn does not have user accounts. We don't run analytics or trackers. Everything you record — dreams, voice clips, sleep entries, AI artwork — stays on your iPhone unless you choose to share it. The only exception is when you opt in to AI dream visualisation, which sends dream text to OpenAI using your own API key.

The following are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private container, and are never transmitted to us:
If you delete the app from your iPhone, this data is permanently erased.
If you grant svapn access to Apple Health, the app reads your sleep analysis samples to display sleep insights and to time the smart-wake alarm during your lightest sleep stage.
You can revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → svapn.
When you record a dream by voice, svapn uses the iPhone microphone and Apple's on-device Speech Recognition framework to transcribe your words into text. Audio and transcripts are saved locally with that dream. Speech recognition runs on-device whenever your iPhone supports it; on older devices it may briefly use Apple's recognition service, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
svapn schedules local notifications for alarms and (optionally) bedtime reminders. These are scheduled by iOS itself and never traverse our servers.
OpenAI (AI dream visualisation). svapn lets you generate artwork from a dream by tapping "Visualize." This is opt-in per dream. When you tap it:
If you never tap "Visualize," no dream content ever leaves your device.
Apple (subscriptions). When you subscribe to svapn Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We receive a signed receipt token that confirms entitlement; we do not see your name, email, payment method, or Apple ID.
svapn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used svapn, contact us and we will help.
Because all your content lives on your device, you can exercise the standard data rights yourself at any time:
Open the Profile tab to view all your dreams, sleep entries, and settings.
Settings → Export will write a JSON file you can save anywhere.
Settings → Erase all data wipes every dream, voice clip, image and entry. Deleting the app does the same.
Revoke Health, Microphone, Speech, or Notifications in iOS Settings → svapn at any time.
Your OpenAI API key is stored in the iOS Keychain (kSecClassGenericPassword), protected by the device's hardware security enclave. Other content is stored in the app sandbox and is encrypted by iOS when the device is locked.
We may update this policy as svapn evolves. Material changes will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
