Privacy Policy

VaultX (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is built around a single principle: your private content stays private and stays on your device. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

✓We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.

✓VaultX has no accounts, no servers, and no cloud. There is nowhere for your data to go.

✓There are no analytics, ads, trackers, or third-party SDKs.

✓All your media is encrypted with AES-256 on your device.

Information we collect

None. VaultX does not collect any personal information, usage data, or analytics. We have no servers and no ability to receive your data.

Content you store in the app

Photos and videos you import or capture are encrypted and stored only in the app's private storage on your device. Your PIN, secret code, decoy PIN, folder passwords, and encryption keys are stored in the device's secure Keychain, marked “this device only”, and are never synced or transmitted. We cannot see, access, or recover any of this.

Device permissions

VaultX only requests permissions for features you choose to use, and uses them solely on your device:

Photos — to import the photos and videos you select. With your permission, the app can optionally delete the originals from the Photos app after importing. VaultX never uploads or writes vault content back to your photo library.
Camera & Microphone — to capture photos and videos directly into the vault, and (if you enable Intruder Capture) to take a photo after repeated failed unlock attempts. Captured media stays encrypted on your device.
Local Network — to run an optional on-device web server for Wireless Transfer, so a computer on the same Wi-Fi can exchange files with the app. Transfers stay on your local network.
Location — only if you enable Location Lock, to check whether you are at one of your saved trusted places before unlocking. Your location is evaluated on device and is never stored remotely or shared.
Screen Time / Family Controls — only if you use the App Locker, to let you lock other apps behind VaultX's authentication. This is handled by Apple's on-device APIs.

Private Browser

The built-in browser uses a non-persistent session — cookies, cache, and website data are not written to disk and are discarded when the browser closes. Bookmarks and history (if you save them) are stored encrypted on your device only. We do not log or transmit your browsing.

Third parties

VaultX includes no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking software. We do not use services that would collect your data.

Children's privacy

VaultX is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, as it collects no information at all.

Data retention & deletion

Because everything is stored locally, you are in full control. Deleting an item, wiping the vault from Settings, or deleting the app removes the corresponding data from your device. We hold no copies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
