Privacy Policy

Summary

This policy explains how the ASCII Studio app ("the app") and this website handle information. ASCII Studio is made by Morhover ("we", "us", "our").

Your photos and videos

• The app only sees the photos and videos you choose. It uses Apple's photo picker, so it never gets access to your whole library.
• All editing, rendering, animation and export happen on your device. We don't upload, store or view your photos, videos or creations on any server.
• Your edits are saved inside the app on your device so you can continue later. They are included in your device backups if you use them. Deleting an edit, or the app, removes them.
• When you export, files go only where you send them: your Photos library, or the app or person you pick in the share sheet.

What we collect

We don't collect personal information. Specifically, the app doesn't collect or share:

• names, email addresses or contact details (there's no account or sign-in)
• location, contacts, browsing history or identifiers for advertising
• usage analytics or crash reports sent to us

Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous App Store statistics (such as download counts) and crash reports from people who chose to share them with developers in their device settings. These don't identify you.

Permissions

• Photos (add only): asked the first time you save an export, so the app can add images and videos to your library. It can't read your library with this permission.
• Camera: used only when you tap Take a photo.

You can change these at any time in your device's Settings app.

Purchases

ASCII Studio Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never see your payment details, name or Apple ID. Apple tells the app whether your subscription is active, and the app checks this on your device. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

On-device AI

Some optional features may download an AI model to your device the first time you use them. The model runs on your device; your images are never sent anywhere. The download itself contains no personal information.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers or fonts. Like any website, the hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability. We don't use these logs to identify you.

If you email us for support, we use your email and message only to answer you, and delete them when they're no longer needed.

Children

The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. It isn't directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Because we don't collect or store personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you've emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA or PIPEDA) you may have additional rights; contact us and we'll help.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and publish the new version here and in the app. If a change affects how your information is handled, we'll explain it clearly before it takes effect.
